About the Author
My son Christopher was diagnosed with ADHD at age four. Even before that, it was clear to me that he was going to be more of a challenge than most children. His boundless energy made him a going concern from the time his eyes opened in the morning until they closed again at bedtime. Even as a toddler, Christopher earned quite a reputation. Acquaintances would describe him as "busy", "bubbly" or "energetic" (they had other names for him when I wasn't around). Relatives christened him with names like "Spark plug" or "firecracker". By age four, he had an odometer reading higher than my car. His activity level, distractibility, and impulsivity raised serious concerns about his sociability, education and sometimes his physical safety. But they also put him (and those around him) into some hilarious predicaments. In this book, I will share with you some of the stories that have had my family and friends laughing hysterically on a regular basis.
There are many studies indicating that humour is a powerful tool for managing stress - and who has more stress than parents of ADD/ADHD kids? So I offer this book with my love and support to the millions of parents who devote their time and energy to raising these gifted and challenging children. Enjoy
